Information concerning World Bandy Championship 2012 in Almaty

World Bandy Championship 2012 will be held in the city of Almaty from January 29 to February 5.  About 15 national teams from all over the world will take part in this Championship.   6 teams of group A will compete at high-latitude rink “Medeu”.  Teams of group B, C will compete at reserve rink of Central Stadium.

Kazakhstanis have already won two games at home

On January, 30th, 2012 on the High-mountainous Sports Complex  "Medeo" in the conditions of a snowfall, within the limits of 32nd World championship on bandy, has taken place game between commands of group And: national team of Kazakhstan and the United States of America (USA).

Monday, 30 January 2012 Rehabilitation of Finland

5:4 for Russia

30th of January year 2012 on “Medeo” skating rink Russia won the match against Finland team with a score 5:4. 

The score was from 2 to 0 in the first half of the game. Players of Finland team even hit the ball to their own gates at the 14th minute of the match. However, they got advantage in the second half of game, by scoring 2 goals at the last 10th minute of the match. Overall Finland team managed to score 4 goals, and 2 of them were made by Ville Aaltonen.

Monday, 30 January 2012 Kazakhstan - Norway (10:1)

29th of January year 2012 on “Medeo” skating rink the last match of first day of World Hockey Championship was held. The competition was between players of group A – Kazakhstan versus Norway.

Obviously the match went according predictable scenery. The team of Kazakhstan managed to get advantage in the first half of the game by scoring 5 goals. The team of Alexey Nikishov didn’t lose their spirit in the second half of the game either, by scoring 5 more goals. The head coach of the team noted that all of his players showed a very good game.

Sunday, 29 January 2012 Sweden - Finland (12:0)

Almaty – 29th of January, 2011, high mounting skating ring “Medeo”, was held first match of World Championship on Bandy, group A, national team of Sweden and Finland.

In the first half Sweden led 6:0. Game was finished with a score of 12:0, in favor of Sweden. Especially distinguished Jonas Edling, scoring 3 goals.

The opening ceremony of 32nd Bendy World Championship on the “Medeo” skating rink included welcome speeches of Major of Almaty Ahmethzhan Esimov and the president of Federation of International Bendy(FIB).

History of World Bandy Championship

World Bandy Championship is a regular international tournament which is held by Federation of International Bandy for men national teams. The first World Bandy Championship was held in 1957, Finland.
